Eminem’s daughter has reacted to Machine Gun Kelly’s scathing diss track aimed at her legendary father, making it clear that she’s not impressed.
Hallie Scott Mathers is at the centre of her dad’s rap feud with MGK, because Eminem fired shot at the Cleveland rapper on his surprise album Kamikaze in a bid to defend his daughter’s honour.
Fans may recall that MGK angered the Lose Yourself hitmaker in 2012 when he tweeted that Hailie was ‘hot as fuck’.
When Eminem unveiled his new project on Friday, he addressed MGK’s remarks on his track Not Alike, rapping: ‘And I’m talking to you but you already know who the fuck you are, Kelly/ I don’t use sublims and sure as fuck don’t sneak-diss/ But keep commenting on my daughter Hailie.’
MGK hit back hours later with a song entitled Rap Devil, mocking Eminem’s beard and stating that Eminem is no longer one of the greatest rappers alive. ‘Still can’t cover up the fact the last four albums as bad as your selfie,’ he said.
He also directly addressed his former idol, saying ‘Now tell me what do you stand for?’ and ‘I know you can’t stand yourself’.
Reactions to the track have been varied. While many claimed that saying that Machine Gun Kelly has effectively committed career suicide, others insisted that he his comeback was brutal.
Hallie took to social media in the early hours of Tuesday to urge fans to stop sending her Rap Devil.
‘Really don’t care for the diss track to be honest,’ the Michigan State University graduate told her 18,600 Twitter followers. ‘You guys can stop tweeting it to me. Thanks.’
The 22-year-old also indicated that she believed MGK had a mistake dissing her dad by retweeting a message from a fan that read: ‘I hope MGK knows he just dug his own grave.’
Eminem fans grew up listening to him rap about his daughter, who is his first child with Kimberly Anne Scott. Hailie is mentioned in at least 22 songs of Eminem, including Hailie’s Song, My Dad’s Gone Crazy, Kim, 97 Bonnie & Clyde, Beautiful and My Darling. Clips of Hailie’s home videos as a child have been featured in the official music video of Mockingbird, which was released in 1999.
Although they haven’t been seen together in years, he dedicated the track Castle on his 2017 album Revival to his little girl and she told the Daily Mail back in June that they are ‘very close’.
