THE ROYAL WEDDING WITH A ROYAL BUDGET!

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are getting married! Wedding invitations have been sent out, a dress has been made, and the royal couple has even announced their first official plans as newlyweds. With flowers, exquisite decor, and a massive enclave of celebrities, political figures, and other royals descending upon St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle, this fairytale wedding is going to be as magical as they come.

In fact, the royal wedding will be so plush, that it’s slated to surpass Prince William and Duchess Kate Middleton’s 2011 royal nuptials. Let’s just say that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding budget (see the shocking number is on page 6!) will make your jaw drop.

The venue

This will be the venue for the royal wedding.

Though Prince Harry and Markle won’t have to put down a deposit for their ceremony at St George’s Chapel or their reception at St. George’s Great Hall, the couple is going to be spending quite a bit of dough to deck the place out.

According to Bridebook, the UK’s number one wedding planning app, the pair will spend approximately $150,000 for the massive amounts of decorative flowers outside of the church, and another reported $420,000 to hire the glass marquee for the evening reception at the Frogmore House.

Extensive security

The two will require a lot of security.

While weddings in the western world have gotten more expensive over time, most couples don’t typically have to worry about top-notch security for their big day. Unfortunately, because the royals are super high-profile, the couple is dishing out a pretty penny to make sure they are safe on their wedding day.

Snipers, undercover police, military tech, and possible drones will make up a major chunk of their wedding budget.

Everybody’s gotta eat

The couple will shell out a lot for great food.

Of course, we think that the most important aspect of any wedding is the food. Markle and her prince apparently feel the same because they aren’t sparing any expense when it comes to feeding their guests. The duo is spending an astounding $70,000 on their lemon elderflower wedding cake from Violet Bakery in East London.

Since the royal couple adores people, they’ve also invited thousands of members of the public to attend their nuptials, and they are feeding them sausage rolls and hot tea. Apparently, the royals are spending $36,000 on those items alone — and that’s not even the catering menu for their personal guests.

Bridebook estimates that catering alone will cost upwards of $404,000.

The wedding gown

Meghan Markle wears a wedding dress as Rachel Zane on Suits.

All eyes will be on Markle when she walks down the aisle, and we’re sure the Suits alum is going to dress to impress. In fact, Bridebook estimates that the budget for her wedding attire will rest between $420,000 and $560,000.

Bridebook reported, “Meghan has a very distinctive sense of style, oozing confidence and pizzazz. She is therefore likely to opt for a completely bespoke wedding dress so she can have full control over the design from start to finish.”

Other expenses

This wedding will be royally expensive.

If you’ve been calculating things in your head already, you know that the total for the royal wedding is certainly adding up. However, we haven’t even begun to discuss other items including, the wedding party’s attire, alcohol, entertainment, music, hair, and makeup, or even toilets.

Yes, toilets are going to be an important and pricey component of the royal wedding. Luxury toilet rentals will probably cost the royals about $49,000.

An eye-raising total

This is how much the royals will pay for this extravagant wedding.

After calculating everything, we know that Prince Harry and Markle’s big day is certainly going to break the bank. Luckily, the royals can afford it. The pair will be saying “I do” and paying an estimated $44.9 million total for the privilege.

In fact, it is so pricey that Bridebook estimates their big day will land a spot on the list of the most expensive weddings of all time.

Comparing budgets

Their wedding may even top Prince William and Kate Middleton’s.

If you aren’t flustered by Markle and Prince Harry’s wedding budget then consider this, when Prince William and Duchess Kate tied the knot in 2011, their wedding budget was $28 million. That’s $20 million less than the forthcoming royal wedding.

It’s going to be the royal wedding of the century
