CELEBS WHO ARE SEXUALLY OR GENDER FLUID

(CNN)For some people, gender is not just about being male or female; in fact, how one identifies can change every day or even every few hours.

Gender fluidity, when gender expression shifts between masculine and feminine, can be displayed in how we dress, express and describe ourselves.

Janelle Monae came out musically in her visual album Dirty Computer, then confirmed she identified as pansexual in a candid interview with Rolling Stone.

Miley Cyrus has admitted she's both sexually and gender fluid. The pop star told Paper magazine about realizing she couldn't label her sexuality at a young age, saying: "I remember telling [my mom] I admire women in a different way. And she asked me what that meant. And I said, I love them. I love them like I love boys." She also touched upon her gender identity, adding: "I don't relate to being boy or girl, and I don't have to have my partner relate to boy or girl."

Steven Tyler has also admitted his gender fluidity. In the Aerosmith rocker's book, Does The Noise In My Head Bother You?, he revealed: "I've been misquoted as saying that I'm more female than male. Let me set the record straight -- it's more half and half, and I love the fact that my feelings are akin to puella eternis (Latin for 'the eternal girl'). What better to be like than the stronger of the species?"

Lily-Rose Depp revealed she was sexually fluid after taking part in iO Tillett Wright's Self-Evident Truths project, which highlights individuals who don't identify as 100% straight.

Cara Delevingne also revealed her sexual fluidity by posing for iO Tillett Wright's Self-Evident Truths campaign.

Ruby Rose openly discussed her gender fluidity in a 2015 interview with Elle, saying: "Gender fluidity is not really feeling like you're at one end of the spectrum or the other. For the most part, I definitely don't identify as any gender. I'm not a guy; I don't really feel like a woman, but obviously I was born one. So, I'm somewhere in the middle, which — in my perfect imagination — is like having the best of both sexes. I have a lot of characteristics that would normally be present in a guy and then less that would be present in a woman. But then sometimes I'll put on a skirt — like today."

In June of 2016, Nico Tortorella revealed that, even though he's in a relationship with a woman, he's sexually fluid. The actor described his sexuality, saying: "It's just a fluidity. . . We're all kind of moving into this one situation." He also touched on the topic on a podcast, adding: "I don't see the world as gender binary — man, woman. There's a whole spectrum of people that fit into all of it, and I've dated all of them, a lot of them. It's not about sex for me. It's about being totally emotionally connected to somebody.... I don't focus on what you have between your legs, because whatever you've got, I'm gonna make it work."

In 2009, Tilda Swinton opened up about being gender fluid in an interview with The WIP, saying: "I don't know if I could ever really say that I was a girl — I was kind of a boy for a long time. I don't know, who knows? It changes."
