Celebrities know that when they’re pregnant, the whole world will follow their every move. They usually like to break the news on their own accord, rather than letting the paparazzi get to it first. Some stars use Instagram to break the news, while others have made dramatic announcements on live TV.
Whether these stars went all out with their pregnancy reveals or got totally candid with their photos, these are the best celebrity pregnancy announcements ever.
15. Chip and Joanna Gaines
This duo is expecting another bundle of joy.
In typical Chip and Joanna Gaines fashion, they made us laugh while announcing the exciting news of baby No. 5. Chip captioned in an Instagram post, “Gaines party of 7.. (If you’re still confused.. WE ARE PREGNANT) @joannagaines.”
Fans’ confusion could have stemmed from the couple looking down expectantly at Chip’s belly, rather than the actual baby in Joanna’s.
14. Kate Hudson
Kate Hudson’s gender reveal was insanely cute.
Kate Hudson shocked the world by announcing her pregnancy with a video of her gender reveal. She and her boyfriend, Danny Fujikawa, are excited to welcome a baby girl — and we can’t help but admit we’re excited, too.
She wrote in her Instagram caption, “SURPRISE!!! If you’ve wondered why I’ve been so absent on my social channels it’s because I have never been more sick!” After explaining just how sick she’s been during her pregnancy, she ended the caption on a positive note: “My kids, Danny, myself and the entire family are crazy excited! A little girl on the way.”
13. Justin Timberlake
This announcement made fans go wild.
Justin Timberlake is a pro at pregnancy announcements. In January 2015, he announced his own baby on the way with wife Jessica Biel in an adorable Instagram post. Timberlake wrote, “Thank you EVERYONE for the Bday wishes! This year, I’m getting the GREATEST GIFT EVER. CAN’T WAIT. #BoyOrGirl #YouNeverKnow #WeDontEvenKnow #WeAreTakingBets.”
In April 2018, Timberlake made another pregnancy announcement — but it wasn’t for his own child. During a concert, a fan held a sign that read, “Will you help me announce my pregnancy?”
Timberlake happily obliged, announcing to the crowd, “Baby Baxtresser arriving November 1, 2018.”
12. Kylie Jenner
She soon shared photos of her first daughter.
OK, so Kylie Jenner didn’t confirm her pregnancy until after she gave birth, but we totally understand why. After she delivered her baby girl, Stormi, on Feb. 1, 2018, she explained why she kept her fans in the dark for so long.
In an Instagram post, she wrote, “I understand you’re used to me bringing you along on all my journeys. My pregnancy was one I chose not to do in front of the world. I knew for myself I needed to prepare for this role of a lifetime in the most positive, stress free, and healthy way I knew how.”
Jenner also shared a sweet montage video of her pregnancy journey, which gave fans a glimpse into her gorgeous pregnancy style, messages for the baby, and those inevitable food cravings.
11. Khloé Kardashian
Khloé Kardashian will be a first-time mom.
Khloé Kardashian couldn’t be more deserving of finally becoming a mother. She’s voiced her desire for motherhood for years, so when she finally became pregnant with her boyfriend, Tristan Thompson, Kardashian shared the most heartfelt Instagram post.
She wrote, “Tristan, most of all, Thank you for making me a MOMMY!!! You have made this experience even more magical than I could have envisioned! I will never forget how wonderful you’ve been to me during this time! Thank you for making me so happy my love!”
Kardashian gave birth to her baby girl on Apr. 12, 2018. However, just two days prior, her boyfriend was caught cheating on her in a New York City club. According to Page Six, Tristan was present for their daughter’s birth, despite the whole Kardashian and Jenner family being furious with him.
10. Cardi B
Cardi B announced her pregnancy on style.
Would you expect Cardi B to do anything but go over the top to announce her pregnancy? Rather than turning to social media to reveal she had a baby on the way, she used the Saturday Night Live stage as her platform.
While performing as the musical guest on Apr. 7, 2018’s episode, the camera panned back during her second song, “Be Careful.” The crowd cheered as her baby bump was put on full display in a gorgeous white dress, confirming the rumors once and for all.
9. Olivia Wilde
She partnered up with her son Jason to announce her pregnancy.
Olivia Wilde’s second pregnancy announcement was cute as can be. Her oldest son, Otis, who she shares with partner Jason Sudeikis, helped her break the news.
Along with this heartwarming photo she shared on Instagram, she simply wrote the caption, “Matching baby bumps,” and a peace-sign emoji.
8. Ayesha Curry
She is excited about growing her family.
We’re loving the way Ayesha Curry made the announcement for baby No. 3. She and her NBA player husband, Stephen Curry, already share two children together: Riley, 5, and Ryan, 2.
In this Instagram post, which features Curry with a shirt that reads “Preggers,” she shared the caption, “Heyyyy how did this happen?!” She continued, “Curry party of 5. Feeling very blessed… and very sick. Yippie! #curryfor3.”
7. Michael and Nicole Phelps
The Phelps family is growing by one more.
Michael and Nicole Phelps used the help of their son, Boomer, to announce another baby on the way. From Boomer’s Instagram account, they shared a photograph of their son looking seriously excited while flashing a positive pregnancy test.
They shared in the caption, “So excited to see what mama is having!! Do I get to have a brother or a sister?!?”
6. Brooklyn Decker
A fun way to announce a pregnancy.
Brooklyn Decker followed in a number of other stars’ footsteps in making her pregnancy announcement on Instagram. Back in 2015, when she was pregnant with her son, she captioned her happy photo, “So this happened… #the3ofus.”
5. Eva Longoria
This announcement made fans super happy.
We love how simple and down-to-earth Eva Longoria’s pregnancy announcement was. Rather than an all-out photo shoot, she’s rocking a seriously comfortable-looking pair of pajamas (which is exactly what we’d be wearing, too).
With a number of hands on her belly, she shared in her Instagram caption, “New year, new adventures! I’m so grateful to my beautiful family for giving this new baby so much love already! #HappyNewYear #2018.”
4. Jessica Alba
Their family is overjoyed.
Jessica Alba spilled some truth while announcing her third child with husband Cash Warren. She shared in her Instagram caption,”@cash_warren and I are officially going to be outnumbered #babyonboard #herewegoagain #blessed.”
With the help of her two daughters, Honor, 9, and Haven, 6, the ladies of the family used balloons to strategically announce a new baby on the way. Her son, Hayes, was born on Dec. 31, 2017.
3. Lauren Conrad
We wouldn’t expect anything less cute than this from Lauren Conrad.
Lauren Conrad’s reveal was simple, yet managed to become one of our favorite celebrity pregnancy announcements ever. The Laguna Beach and The Hills alum shared a photo of her ultrasound to her Instagram (with a perfectly painted manicure, of course), on Jan. 1, 2017.
She wrote, “Happy New Year! I have a feeling 2017 is going to be the best year yet…” Conrad and her husband, William Tell, welcomed baby Liam on July 5, 2017.
2. Kevin Jonas
We appreciate the amount of thought that went into Kevin Jonas and wife Danielle Deleasa’s second pregnancy announcement. In an Instagram post, we see a happy and glowing Deleasa satisfying her food cravings. Meanwhile, Jonas looks to be borderline freaking out, reading What to Expect When You’re Expecting Again.
They captioned the post, “Prepping for baby number two! #babyjonas2.” We’re sure they were as prepared as possible for the Oct. 27, 2016 birth of their second daughter, Valentina.
1. Beyoncé
Beyoncé’s pregnancy announcement went viral.
Beyoncé’s pregnancy announcement of her twins, Sir and Rumi Carter, was potentially the most iconic of our lifetime. She became the newest celebrity to #breaktheinternet, by simply hugging her bump with a sheer veil over her body.
She shared in Feb. 1, 2017 Instagram post, “We would like to share our love and happiness. We have been blessed two times over. We are incredibly grateful that our family will be growing by two, and we thank you for your well wishes. – The Carters.”
