A glowing mum-of-two has revealed how she managed to shed half her body weight and six dress sizes in less than a year - all without ever hitting the gym.
Teresa Venetoulis, from Sydney, shed half her body weight after reaching breaking point.
At her heaviest, the stay-at-home mum tipped the scales at 16st 2lbs (103kg) as a result of overactive hormones following the birth of her son.
After discovering an experimental new diet however, Teresa managed to drop from a size 20 to a size 8, and lose a grand total of 7st 7lbs (49kg).
The 32-year-old now weighs a healthy 8st 5lbs (54kg) after ditching bread and pizza in favour of a high-protein, high-fat ketogenic diet.
Her diet, which included food such as pasta and cheese toasted sandwiches on a daily basis, was replaced with high protein foods such as eggs, avocado and chicken.
And she claims she never once had to exercise to budge the bulge.
Teresa said: "I'd never been overweight before and have always been naturally slim.
"But after giving birth to my son, my hormones went into overdrive, which made me pile on the weight really quickly.
"This then worsened my PCOS [polycystic ovary syndrome], which made it harder to lose weight.
"Within a year, I'd piled on 50kg. I felt like crap.
"I tried all the diets out there, went to the gym and ran every day, but it was no use - nothing worked. I kept putting on weight.
"After I was pregnant with my daughter I reached 103kg, and nothing I did helped budge the weight.
"I would lose 2kg, but then gain 5kg. It was so frustrating."
Despite exercising and dieting, Teresa could not shift the weight
Then after a devastating miscarriage in 2010, Teresa's hormones skyrocketed again and she gained 50kg in less than a year.
Following her daughter Faith's birth in August 2015, Teresa's weight plateaued at 103kg (16st 2lbs), with the mum trying 'every diet under the sun' to slim down - with no success.
With her only other option being to try a cocktail of various medications, Teresa felt she had nothing to lose and decided to reach out for help.
Teresa's doctor suggested the ketogenic diet to help ease her hormone and fertility issues that caused her to pile on the pounds.
These had arisen following the birth of her son Liam in 2009 and diagnosis with PCOS in 2007.
The strict diet required cutting out all carbs in favor of high protein, high fat foods such as oily fish, lean meat, nuts, avocados and eggs.
Teresa decided to go 'full keto' in June 2017.
Teresa has cut all carbs out of her diet, replacing them with high protein and high fat foods
And the mum was 'astounded' to drop 15kg (2st 3lbs) in the first two months after seven years of 'trying everything' to lose weight.
Teresa said: "I'd never heard of the ketogenic diet before, so spent a month researching before I decided to give it a go.
"In the first two months, I lost 15kg. I was astounded. Nothing had ever worked before.
"I just kept going with it, and the weight just melted off.
"I ditched all carbs and focused on high protein and high healthy fats.
"It's always drilled into us to go low fat or fat free, but our body needs good, healthy fats.
Teresa said the weight just "melted" away after starting the diet
"It's the best diet I've ever tried. Now it's a lifestyle choice."
Former gymgoer Teresa claims the only exercise she does each day now is 'incidental' - such as housework, roaming around the shops and walking her children to school.
She also practices intermittent fasting, meaning she eats all her calories for the day in just two large meals at 11am and 2pm.
Teresa said: "I'll have breakfast at around 11am, and then I'll eat again at 2pm.
"Then I'll fast until the next morning. It was hard at first, but your body just gets used to it.
Teresa said the only exercise she does now is coincidental, such as cleaning and going to the shops
"I still feed my kids their three meals and snacks a day as usual.
"The meals are large, and I'm getting all the calories I need without constantly snacking.
"I feel fantastic now that I've lost all the weight.
"It wasn't just about slimming down, but it was about being healthy and the best mum I could be.
Teresa said the weight loss has helped her "be the best mum she can be"
"Now I can run around after my kids easily. I'm less moody, and I have so much more energy.
"I have so much confidence and I've never felt better."
