CELEBRITIES WITH CRAZY RESTRICTIVE DIETS.

1. In order to slim down for her wedding in 2011, Kate Middleton reportedly tried the Dukan Diet. Created by a French doctor Pierre Dukan, the diet consists of phases starting with a protein phase (lasting from two to seven days), followed by a vegetable phase to alternate with the protein phase for as long as it takes until the desired weight is lost. There is also a "consolation phase" where you can finally add some bread and dairy to your meals

2. When she was still besties with Madonna, Gwyneth Paltrow was also on the macrobiotic diet. Since then, she's given that up and gotten a lot freer with her eating habits, although they will cost you a pretty penny to emulate. And she started 2016 with a special Goop detox diet. A former chef of hers also added she "avoided any sugars, anything sweet, no dairy," instead opting for "just more vegetables." The detox has been a mainstay ever since!

3. It's a supermodel's job to look good, but Adriana Lima goes into major restrictive diet mode in the days leading up to the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show. In the nine days prior to the show, she only drinks protein shakes and water, and doesn't put a single solid food in her body. Wild!!!

4. Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen's personal chef detailed exactly how the quarterback and supermodel stay in such impeccable shape. There are entire lists of foods they don't even touch -- no mushrooms EVER. After his chef's confession, Tom also admitted that he's never drank coffee in his LIFE. Is a life without coffee even worth it? LOLz!

5. Rumor has it that both Jennifer Aniston and Lady GaGa have been on fitness trainer Tracy Anderson's baby food diet. The plan involves eating only baby food for breakfast and lunch, and then having a "sensible dinner." Whatever that means.

6. Megan Fox apparently gave up bread and carbs to get back in shape after the birth of her second son. In the past she has also advocated taking shots of vinegar to reduce bloating. Vinegar. Blech

7. Victoria Beckham reportedly follows the alkaline diet, which attempts to keep your body's pH levels between 7.35 and 7.45. It involves eating 80% vegetables and 20% grains and lean meats.

8. During his lifetime Steve Jobs was known to eat only certain foods, like apples and carrots, for days and weeks at a time. He also adhered to a fruitarian diet, involving only eating fruits, nuts, seeds, and absolutely no animal products.

9. Beyonce and Jay Z famously went on the 22-day vegan diet in 2015. Though lots of people go vegan as a major lifestyle change, it's not easy, considering how many foods contain animal products like butter, cheese, and eggs. Of course we're sure BeyJay had no issues with adhering to the diet thanks to their personal chef.

10. Elizabeth Hurley's admitted to keeping the weight off by eating soup anytime she's hungry! She even shared her recipe for tomato and watercress soup a few years ago, and revealed that she can eat as much as six cups a day when she's really looking to shed a few pounds.

11Madonna has been on the mother of restrictive diets -- the macrobiotic diet -- for years. Of course she's also in insane shape thanks to it. The diet cuts out wheat, dairy, eggs, or meat, and promotes the eating of seaweed and other "sea vegetables," legumes, soy, and lots of raw vegetables. However, veggies like peppers, tomatoes, potatoes, eggplants, and avocados are generally prohibited.

12. Back in 2009, Giuliana Rancic blogged about her daily eating habits on her personal website, detailing a HIGHLY restrictive diet that had her beginning her early mornings with nothing but Yerba Mate tea and a cayenne pepper and lemon water mix. The diet also strictly cut out butter, oil, sugar, coffee, salad dressings or other types of sauces, white rice, and any type of dessert. After years of eating disorder rumors, the TV host opened up about her health and the toll that cancer has taken on her body. These days she has a far less punishing eating routine, though her medication makes it difficult for her to gain weight.

13Elle Macpherson stays looking slim and trim in her 50s thanks to the alkaline diet, which involves eating mostly fruits, vegetables, nuts, and legumes as opposed to meat, carbs, dairy, and anything processed. This is done to maintain the body's pH levels and avoid it from getting too acidic.
